It is especially helpful for older students who are struggling to mentor or tutor younger students. This gives both students a sense of pride and accomplishment. The Timeline assignments can easily be tailored to challenge, without frustrating, students working at many different levels. Working on timelines also help students connect the events and people they are reading and writing about.
