Slice three cups of apples.
Cut and crumble 2 cups soft bread.
Brown bread in 1/4 cup of butter.
Mix 1/2 cup brown sugar and a few dashes of assorted spices in with the apples.
Add apple-sugar mix to bread, mixing well.
Add 3/4 cup water, cover and bake at 375 for 30-40 minutes, until apples are tender.
Serve warm.
